Budget Braces in Moray

Get the smile you deserve without breaking the bank. Explore Budget Braces in Moray for affordable orthodontic solutions.

Why Budget Braces?

Due to NHS restrictions some patients can no longer be treated free of charge under the NHS system because their dental irregularity is not considered severe enough when compared against the IOTN (Index of Orthodontic Treatment Need) set out by the Scottish Government.

Who Can Benefit from Budget Braces?

For those patients who don’t qualify but still feel they would benefit from treatment, we offer a self funded option called “Budget Braces”. This option allows the patient to fund their own orthodontic treatment at a much lower cost than private treatment. The patient will receive the same metal brackets as used for NHS patients.

Who Could Qualify for Budget Braces?

  • Children where malocclusion is considered mild, but would like to improve their teeth for cosmetic reasons only.
  • Children who qualify for NHS treatment, HOWEVER, would like to consider treatment which is not available on the NHS.
  • Anyone younger than 26 years old who does not qualify for NHS treatment.

When Can the Treatment Be Started?

Treatment can be started almost immediately and even small dental irregularities can be treated. If, however, there is a need for more aesthetic braces or more flexible appointment times then please see our Private Orthodontics options.

The Process of Getting Budget Braces

The Process of Getting Budget Braces:

  1. Consultation: The first step is to schedule a consultation with our orthodontist at Moray Orthodontics. During this appointment, the orthodontist will assess your teeth and discuss your treatment options.
  2. Treatment Plan: Once you’ve decided to proceed with budget braces, the orthodontist will create a treatment plan tailored to your specific needs. This plan will outline the duration of treatment, expected outcomes, and any associated costs.
  3. Brace Fitting: The next step is to have your braces fitted. This involves attaching brackets to your teeth and securing them with wires. The orthodontist will make any necessary adjustments to ensure a comfortable fit.
  4. Regular Adjustments: Throughout your treatment, you’ll need to attend regular appointments for adjustments. During these visits, the orthodontist will tighten the wires or replace them with thicker ones to gradually move your teeth into the desired position.
  5. Monitoring Progress: The orthodontist will monitor your progress closely to ensure that your teeth are moving as planned. They may take X-rays or impressions periodically to track changes in your teeth alignment.
  6. Retention Phase: Once your teeth have been straightened, you’ll enter the retention phase. This involves wearing a retainer to prevent your teeth from shifting back to their original position. The orthodontist will provide instructions on how long to wear the retainer and how to care for it.
  7. Follow-Up Care: After your treatment is complete, you’ll still need to attend follow-up appointments to ensure that your teeth remain in their new position. The orthodontist will continue to monitor your progress and address any concerns that arise.

How Much are the Budget Braces?

At Moray Orthodontics, our budget-friendly option starts at £1,800 per arch for those under the age of 26. This affordable option allows patients to access quality orthodontic treatment without compromising on the effectiveness of their care.
